ROLE SUMMARY
The Solution Engineer (SE) is a member of the Clinical Supply Solutions (CSS) organization within the WRD Creation Center. In CSS, our mission is to help bring medicines to patients through the delivery of impactful and sustainable technology solutions for the Global Clinical Supply (GCS) organization by providing the talent for technology planning, project execution, and application development excellence.
The SE plays a key role in meeting our mission. The SE analyzes specifications, designs logic, writes code, customizes products, tests, debugs, and documents software applications. The SE acts as a technical subject matter expert on in-house, outsourced, or co-sourced development projects.
Key responsibilities include directing and participating in programming activities, monitoring, evaluating system performance, and designing and implementing new programs and features. This position will perform that function in partnership and collaboration with Client Partner leaders, other Pfizer Digital service providers, and business team members stakeholders.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
With some oversight this role:
- Works in team environment with Pfizer colleagues as well as vendor partners.
- Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
- Provides technical oversight to ensure the quality and maintenance of existing production systems.
- Develops, maintains and promotes Engineering Best Practices for the group.
- Designs, prototypes, implements and unit test software solutions.
- Participates in perr code reviews.
- Specifies user/system interfaces and translate logical designs into physical designs taking account of target environment, performance requirements and existing systems.
- Produces detailed designs and documents all work using required standards, methods and tools, including prototyping tools, where appropriate.
- Conducts reviews of supplied specifications as appropriate.
- Defines integration interfaces to other in-house or external systems and produces integration design and implementation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree.
- 3+ years of experience with an emphasis on solutions and application
development - Knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
- Strong capabilities developing multi-tiered solutions using OOP programming languages such as .NET and C# developer skill set is preferred. Web technologies and frameworks such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS are required as well.
- Demonstrated capabilities in understanding data and integration architectures to manage, transform, and exploit data across the enterprise. Knowledge of Web Service messaging is desired.
- Capable of understanding security requirements, and using the frameworks and tools the organization has put in place to meet those requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including technical writing / documentation
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence outcomes.
