Role
The job holder will be working towards helping to analyze, designing, programming, testing, documenting, and maintaining software solutions and adhering to their established Change management control. Will be expected to be able to deliver reliable new solutions with no technical debt and be able to estimate and deliver their projects on time. Will also be an integral part of their Incident & Problem management process, helping to resolve any issues within the established SLAs. As a key member of the broader IT delivery team will be working closely with the product teams / client units, software development team and QA team to understand the business systems, processes and needs, and to facilitate and implement business and technology change at a project level.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing technical implementation and support to their iSeries customer base; will be working within their existing iSeries implementation and support team to provide key technical, support and implementation work towards new and within existing customer software solutions.
- Assist and contribute to the architectural design of new software solutions and help ensure they align to their solution delivery goals.
- Responsible to design, code, test, deploy and maintain software solution as per their Software Development Lifecycle process; participates in their Change, Incident, Problem management procedures as per their established processes.
- Analyzes current software solutions including performance, diagnosis, and troubleshooting; responds promptly to bug reports and helps design solutions to reduce technical debt.
- Helps ensure their PMO maintains an audit ready and compliance posture at all times, according to industry best practices and corporate policies, by adhering to all relevant governance measures.
Qualifications
Must have
- An undergraduate degree in computer science/information technology/software development or related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a software developer on iSeries/AS400/DB2;
- Excellent knowledge and proven track record in designing, developing, debugging and maintaining COBOL applications in an iSeries/AS400/DB2 complex enterprise-level environment is required; custom CL scripting ability required;
- Good communicator and able to work with business and technical stakeholders; possesses a proven track record of taking ownership and seeing to completion both change and run software development projects with low to no supervision.
- Possesses a solid understanding of the Software Development lifecycle process; ITIL training or experience working within a formal SDLC environment is required; experience with Service management platforms, software and tools, e.g., Jira, Service Now or equivalent platforms/tools is also required.
- Fluent in both Greek and English (oral and written);
Nice to have
- a postgraduate degree in a related field will be considered an asset;
- Previous experience working within Insurance / Finance market will be considered a strong asset;
- Previous experience in architecting and delivering business application solutions of technologies in question will be considered a strong asset;
- DBA level experience with DB2 will be considered an asset;
- Ability to develop in J2EE/Java in a web, web services or middleware setting will be considered a strong asset;
- Ideally have knowledge or experience in PL/SQL
