Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join their engineering team as they rapidly grow their platforms to expand to international markets. The right candidate should have a solid technical background, significant experience managing a team, a “get-things-done” attitude and the enthusiasm to build, inspire and grow engineering talent, improve team processes and deliver great software.

The eRetail Audit Stack Consists of:

• Angular Frontend
• Core API developed in Ruby on Rails 7
• A suite of backend services developed in Python
• PostgreSQL
• Redis
• Elasticsearch

Job Description and Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of software engineers, providing guidance, support and growth opportunities
• Collaborate with product managers to identify, prioritize and plan feature development
• Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to improve the quality and maintainability of the codebase
• Recommend improvements to our technology stack and development processes
• Manage hiring processes as needed to grow the team
• Initiate and contribute ideas on the design of new services and platform optimizations
• Ensure that the development team follows best practices, standards, and procedures
• Stay up to date with the latest software development technologies and techniques

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• At least 7 years of professional experience developing and maintaining production software, with at least 2 years in a team leadership role
• Proven track record of leading software development teams and delivering high-quality software products
• Significant experience with both front-end and back-end development (experience with Ruby on Rails and/or Angular a plus)
• Strong understanding of web development principles, standards, and best practices
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases

• Experience with agile software development processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
