About the Role:
The Software Technical Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the company’s software development projects by providing a clear technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for development teams and stakeholders. This role plays a critical part in managing and guiding the Agile development process, ensuring that the company’s software products meet high standards of quality, functionality, and innovation.
The Software Technical Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps, QA, and solutions architects, to ensure that all technical aspects of projects are delivered efficiently and effectively, aligned with company goals and client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vision & Direction:
- Provide a strategic vision and direction to the Agile development teams and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to create and refine requirements, ensuring clarity and alignment with project objectives.
- Team Leadership & Supervision:
- Supervise and advise development teams to ensure software development meets the required expectations and quality standards.
- Oversee the full development lifecycle, including software programming, DevOps processes, and technical quality assurance (QA).
- Code Quality & Improvements:
- Conduct audits of coding practices, system functionalities, and performance metrics.
- Propose and implement technical improvements to optimize the development process and product delivery.
- Product Development & Backlog Management:
- Plan, prioritize, and manage the product feature backlog to align development efforts with business needs and product goals.
- Ensure continuous alignment between the roadmap and development team activities, adjusting priorities as necessary.
- Project Roadmap Management:
- Manage the company’s project roadmap, ensuring clear communication of priorities and deadlines to relevant teams.
- Track project progress, remove bottlenecks, and ensure that development efforts remain on schedule and meet business objectives.
- Technical Guidance & Solutions:
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to the solutions team, especially on the tech aspects of new projects.
- Assist in evaluating new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve the development process and support business goals.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in software development leadership, ideally in Agile environments at least 5 years
- Strong understanding of software architecture, DevOps, and QA practices.
- Expertise in Java and its associated frameworks, including a solid understanding of coding best practices, software design patterns, and code quality auditing.
- Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage roadmaps and development priorities.
- Hands-on experience with modern development tools and technologies.
- Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
