Our client is a licensed Payment Service Provider (PSP), operating under the supervision of the Central Bank of Cyprus. They serve the Greek market by offering free EU IBAN professional accounts along with a complete acquiring solution – covering both in-store POS payments and online transactions through our e-commerce gateway.

Key Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of software projects, from requirements analysis and solution architecture to development, deployment, and production delivery.
• Leverage AI-powered coding tools and agentic workflows to drive efficient, high-quality software development.
• Design, establish, and continuously improve AI-assisted development workflows, coding rules, and engineering best practices.
• Review, validate, and optimize AI-generated code, ensuring reliability, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Contribute to software architecture decisions, system design, and the modernization of existing applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and product requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Drive technical problem-solving, identify potential risks, and ensure successful project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to other engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Take initiative in improving engineering processes, development efficiency, and overall product quality.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive professional experience in software engineering, with a strong background in full-stack application development.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, system design, design patterns, and clean code principles.
• Proven experience taking end-to-end ownership of software projects or products, from initial design to production.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools and workflows as part of the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to review and validate AI-generated code, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and ensure engineering quality.
• Experience establishing or improving development workflows, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
• Strong understanding of backend development, frontend technologies, APIs, and database systems.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance, mentor developers, and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
• High level of autonomy, accountability, and a proactive, startup-oriented mindset.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Node.js, JavaScript, React, or PHP.
• Familiarity with AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
• Experience designing or implementing agentic development workflows.
• Experience with microservices architecture and monolithic application modernization.
• Previous experience in fintech, payments, or financial services environments.
• Familiarity with secure software development practices and PCI DSS requirements.
