You will be joining a global technology project for a leading international insurance organization operating in more than 50 countries and territories, with approximately 45,000 employees worldwide. The company provides a broad portfolio of commercial and personal insurance solutions, serving millions of customers across the globe. As part of its ongoing digital transformation, the organization is investing heavily in cloud technologies, automation, AI, data analytics, and cybersecurity to modernize its platforms and enhance customer experience. You will become part of an international technology environment, collaborating with globally distributed teams to deliver innovative, scalable solutions for one of the world’s largest insurance providers.
Role Overview
- Lead analysis and research to identify approaches and solutions for new insights with high level complexity.
- Oversees the development of new reporting, visualization and analytics applications converting data into information used for business decision making.
- Manage stakeholder expectations to ensure accuracy and consistency of solutions.
- Provide recommendations to address data and process gaps impactful to business requirements.
- Communicate approaches with cross functional teams and leadership.
- Lead/Coach junior/medior data engineers in the execution of their daily duties.
- Partner with business and tech teams to develop testing requirements, procedures and corrective actions to ensure data products meet quality standards.
- Establish open data standards, metadata management policies and data classifications
Key Responsibilities
- Develop models and prototypes to provide observations, identify trends and patterns with leadership to assess potential solutions to business requirements.
- Develop statistical models, algorithms needed for reporting and analytics with high level complexity.
- Partner with data engineers to ensure compliance to standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop requirements and related designs.
- Develop testing requirements, procedures and corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to open data standards, metadata management policies and data classifications.
- Comprehend and adhere to all data security policies and procedures.
- Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members.
- Build analytical tools to provide actionable insights into key business KPIs, etc.
- Work with data engineers to optimize pipelines for scalability and data delivery.
Technical Competencies
- 5+ years’ hands-on experience with a data science background.
- Some programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Clear hands-on experience with database systems – Cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google), in-memory database systems (e.g. HANA, Hazel cast, etc) and other database systems – traditional RDBMS (e.g. Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle), and NoSQL databases (e.g. Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
Required Qualifications
- Background in SQL, databases and/or data science OR BS/MS in software engineering, computer science, mathematics.
- Advanced knowledge with data and analytics framework supporting data lakes, warehouses, marts, reporting, etc.
- Experience with data tools for visualizations, analytics and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to research, assess and develop observations/findings.
- Ability to communicate findings, approaches to cross functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to provide clear direction to data engineer teams.
- Knowledge of testing policies, procedures and the role testing performs within the software development lifecycle.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and contribute to iterative software delivery.
- Exposure to data governance principles, including metadata management, data classification, and adherence to open data standards and best practices.
- Previous experience mentoring or coaching junior team members, providing technical guidance and supporting knowledge sharing within the team.
- Familiarity with the Insurance or Financial Services industry and an understanding of enterprise-scale data platforms, reporting, and analytics environments.
Salary (Ind.): 2600-3200 € / Per month Gross
