Java Tech Lead

Our client is an award-winning software provider with extensive expertise in Financial Software and Large-Scale Solutions, including a significant portfolio of Public Sector projects. The company has a presence in 50+ countries and 10 offices in key financial centers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical & Team Leadership

• Provide day-to-day technical leadership and guidance to a team of approximately 9–10 Software Engineers.
• Mentor developers and support their technical growth and development.
• Drive technical discussions and contribute to key implementation and design decisions.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and engineering best practices.
• Support the team in resolving complex technical challenges.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Architects, and other technical stakeholders.
• Promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.

2. Software Development & Delivery

• Remain involved in hands-on Java development, particularly for complex or critical components.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise-grade applications using Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Support the implementation of scalable, maintainable, and high-quality backend solutions.
• Contribute to microservices and API-based architectures.
• Ensure appropriate testing, code quality, CI/CD, and development practices are followed throughout the team.
• Participate in estimations, technical planning, and delivery activities.

Required Qualifications

• Strong professional experience in Java backend development.
• Very good knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and enterprise application development.
• Previous experience as a Tech Lead, Team Lead, Senior Software Engineer with leadership responsibilities, or in a similar technical leadership position.
• Experience mentoring and technically guiding software engineers.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, clean code, and engineering best practices.
• Experience with microservices architectures, relational databases, and modern development practices.
• Understanding of CI/CD, containerization, and cloud technologies will be considered an advantage.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to balance technical leadership responsibilities with hands-on development.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience working in financial services, banking, fintech, or other highly regulated environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and third-party system integrations.
• Experience working in international, distributed, or multicultural development teams.
• Knowledge of performance optimization, troubleshooting, and production incident resolution in large-scale applications.
