Java Architect
At A Glance
We are looking for an experienced Java Architect to join our client’s dynamic team and contribute to the architectural direction and technical evolution of large-scale enterprise applications, with a particular focus on Public Sector projects.
The role is ideal for a strong Java professional who has progressed into software architecture and solution design, while maintaining a solid understanding of implementation and modern backend engineering practices.
You will join an established engineering environment and collaborate closely with experienced engineers who are already contributing to architectural activities. Therefore, the focus will not necessarily be on designing everything from scratch, but rather on strengthening the existing architecture capability, shaping technical solutions, and ensuring architectural consistency across projects.

Our client is an award-winning software provider with extensive expertise in Financial Software and Large-Scale Solutions, including a significant portfolio of Public Sector projects. The company has a presence in 50+ countries and 10 offices in key financial centers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Software Architecture & Technical Design
- Contribute to the architecture and technical design of large-scale Java applications.
- Translate business and project requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
- Define and evolve application architecture, design patterns, integration approaches, and technical standards.
- Make architectural decisions around Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST/SOAP APIs, databases, and system integrations.
- Review existing architectures and identify opportunities for modernization, optimization, and technical improvement.
- Ensure solutions meet requirements around scalability, performance, security, maintainability, and reliability.
- Support system modernization, refactoring, and architectural evolution where required.
- Produce and maintain technical and architectural documentation.
2. Technical Collaboration & Governance
- Work closely with Software Engineers, Tech Leads, Project Managers, and other technical stakeholders.
- Provide architectural guidance to development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Review technical designs and support engineers in resolving complex architectural challenges.
- Promote consistent application of software engineering principles and architectural standards.
- Participate in technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the evaluation and selection of appropriate technologies, frameworks, and implementation approaches.
- Contribute to code and design reviews where architectural oversight is required.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive professional experience in Java software engineering.
- Strong hands-on background with Java, Spring Boot, enterprise applications, and API design.
- Proven experience in software architecture, solution design, or senior technical design responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, integration patterns, and enterprise architecture principles.
- Experience with relational databases and complex system integrations.
- Understanding of cloud platforms, containerization, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical and architectural solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Experience with large-scale Public Sector projects will be considered a strong advantage.
- Previous experience working within complex enterprise environments involving multiple systems and engineering teams will also be highly valued.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and domain modeling in complex enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and asynchronous communication patterns.
- Experience with architecture governance, including Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and technical standards.
- Exposure to enterprise security architecture, authentication/authorization patterns, and secure system design.
Salary (Ind.): 3500-4000 € / Per month Gross
