Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Ownership: Set technical for the Software Delivery department (IaC, CI/CD, configuration management, deployment artifacts).
• Commissioning Strategy: Turn client requirements into production-ready configuration bundles.
• Product Validation Authority: Establish end-to-end validation standards, guaranteeing that all delivered environments meet production level performance, compliance and flawless delivery.
• Service Lifecycle Design Ownership: Responsible for ensuring that standardized, automated procedures for future updates, security patching, and reliable backup/restore mechanisms and well established. Networking (VPN, routing, LB, firewall) are delivered as part of the initial build.
• Data Layer Provisioning & Management: Define and implement automation strategies for provisioning, configuring, and managing databases in various environments.
• Technical Mentorship & Escalation: Serve as the primary technical escalation point, provide mentoring to mid-level and junior engineers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and rigorous automation standards.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 6 years of hands-on technical experience in DevOps or Systems Engineering, preferably with at least 1+ years in a technical leadership or senior role guiding infrastructure decisions.
• Core Technology Mastery: Expert proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform and Ansible preferred). Strong, proven administration skills in both Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments.
• Proactive Product Health: Expertise on monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to maintain service health.
• CI/CD integration: Hands-on experience managing the service lifecycle of CI/CD integration (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Hybrid Environment Experience: Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure across both public cloud platforms (Azure at present, AWS knowledge welcome) and on-premises data centres (VMware/Proxmox/Bare Metal). Understanding the networking complexities of hybrid connectivity is essential.
• Database & Scripting: Experience with automated provisioning and configuration of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Strong scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Soft Skills: Ability to lead technical initiatives, translate complex requirements into executable infrastructure plans, and effectively mentor fellow engineers on ways to work more effectively, grounded in both best practices, and real conditions feasibility.
• On-Prem Working: Please note that though they are working towards enabling and providing Hybrid working, due to the sensitive nature of their product, services and clients, for the time being, the role should be considered as On-Prem only. Part of this role will enable them to reach the Hybrid working by standardizing their work pipelines.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience working with air-gapped or high-security environments, including restricted network access and secure software delivery.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud services and multi-cloud infrastructure architectures.
• Familiarity with high-availability and disaster recovery strategies, including backup/restore testing and infrastructure resilience.
• Experience with network security and infrastructure hardening, including firewall configuration, VPNs, load balancing, and secure hybrid connectivity.
