Our client is a non-profit organization in an effort to enhance transparency, credibility, and independence in journalism, founded in 2018. The creation of the Organisation was prompted by the global crisis in journalism and the growing lack of trust in journalists and the media.

The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role involves managing IT projects, providing advanced technical support, and ensuring system security. The IT Manager works closely with other departments to support their technology needs and implements IT strategies aligned with the organization’s objectives.

1. IT Infrastructure Management:
   – Oversee the maintenance and optimization of servers, networks, and data storage.
   – Ensure the availability, performance, and security of all IT systems.
   – Manage cloud services, virtualization, and enterprise-wide IT systems.
   – Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
2. Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
   – Provide advanced technical support to resolve complex hardware and software issues.
   – Assist in the diagnosis and resolution of network connectivity problems.
   – Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers for specialized support.
3. Security and Compliance:
   – Implement and maintain security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
   – Ensure compliance with industry standards, data protection regulations, and organization policies.
   – Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
4. Project Management:
   – Lead and manage IT projects from planning to implementation, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
   – Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
   – Track project progress, manage risks, and report on status to senior management.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
   – Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to IT staff.
   – Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and identify professional development opportunities for the team.
   – Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
6. Vendor and Asset Management:
   – Manage relationships with IT vendors and negotiate contracts.
   – Oversee the procurement, installation, and maintenance of IT hardware and software.
   – Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and ensure proper licensing.
7. Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery:
   – Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
   – Ensure regular backups and test recovery procedures.
   – Coordinate IT recovery efforts during and after a disaster.
8. Strategic Planning:
   – Assist in the development and implementation of IT strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
   – Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to the IT infrastructure.
   – Participate in budget planning and manage IT expenditures

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of networking, server management, MS Azure virtualization, MS 365 cloud services, and cybersecurity.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex IT issues.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Project Management: Experience in managing IT projects, with the ability to plan, execute, and close projects effectively.
• Security Awareness: Deep understanding of IT security practices, including knowledge of firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection.
• Strong personal integrity: Ability to consistently adhere to ethical principles and values, even in challenging situations
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and stay current with industry trends.
• Critical thinking: Ability to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information in a systematic and objective manner
• Excellent communication skills in Greek and English (including ability to explain complex IT concepts to non-IT colleagues

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum bachelor’s degree-preferably master’s in information technology, Computer Science or similar
• Overall, 5-10 years of experience in related fields.
