ROLE SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The intern in the Cash Management Solutions & Transformation team within Finance Solutions will be responsible for supporting the successful execution of projects and providing technical assistance for small to medium-sized initiatives. The core responsibilities of the role include collaborating with cross-functional teams from Pfizer Digital and business units to understand business requirements and develop or enhance solutions that address those needs. The intern will play a key role in ensuring that business solutions align with the strategic goals and help advance the future state of existing systems.
This technical role requires a strong foundation in relational databases, programming languages, and scripting, with the ability to apply these skills to solve business challenges. A genuine interest in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or UX design is a preferred trait, as the intern will contribute to creating user-friendly solutions. The intern will be accountable for ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently, working with both digital and business teams to establish strong relationships, and understanding and meeting business needs. Successful outcomes will include the development and optimization of solutions that enhance operational efficiency and deliver tangible results to the business.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• In pursuit of a degree in computer science, information technology, life sciences, or related field
• Good facilitation and presentation skills
• Concise, accurate communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Analytic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Ability to execute and deliver on assigned tasks
• Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Willingness to contribute fresh and innovative ideas
ADDITIONAL INFO / PREFERRED SKILLS
• Understanding of database management systems (Oracle or SQL). Understanding of data structures. Ability to query and develop efficient SQL queries.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python. Ability to enhance functionality, and build custom solutions.
• Wireframing and UX Design: Ability to create wireframes or prototypes for future solutions.
• Basic Project Management Skills
• Understanding of Agile concept
• Working knowledge of SharePoint and other collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint) to facilitate teamwork and communication across cross-functional teams.
• Documentation and Organizational Skills: Strong documentation skills to ensure that all technical processes, solutions, and project updates are clearly and accurately recorded.
• Organizational skills are necessary to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
