Role Summary
A Front-End Engineer is responsible for building intuitive, high-performance, and accessible user interfaces that deliver a seamless user experience across web and mobile platforms. They translate design concepts into functional, responsive, and maintainable UI components while collaborating closely with designers, backend engineers, and product teams. Front-End Engineers ensure that applications are visually consistent, fast, secure, and aligned with product requirements and best development practices.
Key Responsibilities
- UI Development & Implementation
- Develop responsive, reusable, and modular UI components using modern frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, etc.).
- Transform UX/UI designs, wireframes, and prototypes into clean, functional interfaces.
- Ensure consistency with design systems, branding guidelines, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
- State Management & Front-End Architecture
- Implement and maintain state management using Redux, MobX, Vuex, NgRx, or similar tools.
- Contribute to the design and evolution of front-end architecture, component libraries, and shared utilities.
- Ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance of UI codebases.
- API Integration & Data Handling
- Integrate with backend services via RESTful APIs or GraphQL.
- Handle asynchronous operations, data transformations, caching, and error handling.
- Collaborate with Backend Engineers to define API contracts and improve data flows.
- Performance Optimization
- Analyze and optimize front-end performance (bundle size, rendering speed, lazy loading, caching).
- Identify and resolve UI bottlenecks impacting user experience.
- Ensure applications load fast, feel responsive, and perform well across devices.
- Testing & Quality Assurance
- Write unit tests, integration tests, and UI automation tests using Jest, Cypress, Playwright, Testing Library, etc.
- Ensure high-quality, stable code through continuous testing and code reviews.
- Collaborate with QA to validate test cases, edge cases, and UI consistency.
- Cross-Browser & Cross-Device Compatibility
- Ensure consistent functionality and look-and-feel across browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox) and screen sizes.
- Test and fine-tune responsive layouts, touch interactions, and accessibility attributes.
- Front-End Tooling & DevOps Collaboration
- Use modern build tools (Webpack, Vite, Rollup, esbuild) and package managers (npm, Yarn, pnpm).
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for front-end applications together with DevOps and BE teams.
- Support environment configuration, feature flags, release management, and monitoring.
- Collaboration & Agile Delivery
- Work closely with UX designers, Product Owners, Backend developers, and QA engineers.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, grooming, retrospectives).
- Provide effort estimates, propose improvements, and ensure smooth product delivery.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience with JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with one or more frameworks (React, Angular, Vue).
- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, SASS/LESS, and responsive design principles.
- Experience with UI/UX standards, accessibility (WCAG), and design systems.
- Familiarity with frontend testing frameworks and tools.
- Understanding of browser mechanics, rendering pipelines, and performance best practices.
- Experience with Git and GitFlow.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
