About the role
We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join a team working on a highly complex data analytics platform, contributing to the processing and analysis of large-scale maritime data.
You will be part of a cross-functional team (Backend, Frontend, QA, ML), collaborating closely to deliver scalable and high-impact solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services for a complex, data-intensive system
- Contribute to architectural decisions and system design
- Collaborate with QA, ML, and Product teams to ensure smooth delivery
- Participate in key ceremonies and support end-to-end delivery processes
- Maintain and improve performance, scalability, and reliability of services
- Follow established Git workflows and engineering best practices
Requirements
- Strong experience with Java & Spring Boot
- Solid knowledge of SQL & Relational Databases (PostgreSQL)
- Experience with Redis (caching mechanisms)
- Hands-on experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ)
- Familiarity with Kafka (considered a plus)
- Experience with Kubernetes clusters (event-driven scaling)
- Experience working in monorepo environments with multiple deployments
- Strong understanding of unit testing practices (release-based)
