Our client is a leading company in the oil and gas sector and currently seeking an Applications and Operations Head.

Job Description:

As the Head of Application Operations, you will oversee their enterprise applications’ management, optimization, and day-to-day operations, including Microsoft D365 CRM, Microsoft Business Central, and billing systems. You will also oversee vendor relations, change management, application support and lead a team of application specialists to ensure seamless integration, performance, security, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire application lifecycle, including deployment, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and enhancement.
• Lead application operations and support, ensuring swift resolution of incidents, service requests, and system maintenance tasks.
• Manage vendor relationships, from RFP to performance monitoring under SLA.
• Implement and oversee change management processes related to enterprise applications, ensuring smooth transitions, quality of deliverables, and minimal disruptions to business operations.
• Apply application governance policies, standards, and procedures to maintain data integrity, security, and compliance, always aligning with group policies and procedures.
• Identify areas for improvement and drive continuous optimization of application performance, scalability, reliability, and other quality attributes.
• Manage a team of application specialists, providing guidance, support, and fostering their professional growth.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on their application landscape and recommending relevant initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the application operation function, driving initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and quality of service.
• Organize and deliver internal end-user training on application use.

Competencies:

• Between 3-5 years of experience in enterprise application operation & management, focusing on Microsoft enterprise applications (D365 CX, D365 Business Central) and Azure.
• Hands-on experience with application lifecycle management, including deployment, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Vendor management skills, including change management, quality assurance on scheduled operations, and performance evaluation.
• Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to navigate complex technical landscapes and drive innovation.
• Energy & Utilities industry experience is desirable.

Education Level:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• A master’s degree in an IT-related field is desirable.

Other Skills / Experience:

• Related Microsoft certifications, such as D365 Business Central, D365 CRM, Azure etc. is advantageous.
