Our project is for a consulting company specializing in IT strategy, business analysis and systems integration for the insurance industry. The company was founded in 2009 when experienced insurance IT consultants partnered, with the vision to create a premier services company which will comprise the first choice in IT consulting for Insurers. Since then, the company has grown significantly. Many successful projects have been delivered to Insurers throughout Europe improving their operations and contributing to their growth.

Join our team as a Java Software Engineer and take charge of a sophisticated, cloud-native, digital motor claims platform, offering insurers advanced APIs and web applications to revolutionize their claims processing workflows. In this role, you will join a skilled team, utilizing your technical prowess to architect, enhance, and scale their platform’s offerings. Be part of a dynamic environment that’s reshaping the insurance landscape through cutting-edge software solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in the development and implementation of core products for their cloud-based digital insurance claims platform.

Assist in the design and maintenance of various software layers within the platform, including:

• Integration of third-party services.
• Implementation of internal business logic modules
• APIs exposed by the platform to customers (APIs and UIs).
• Integration/orchestration layer for building reusable products, including
• microservice architecture and real-time integration capabilities.
• Collaborate with frontend, backend, and business process developers.
• Support the platform’s technical capabilities to scale efficiently.
• Balance the development of generic, reusable products and delivering client-focused
• solutions.
• Coordinate with engineers from infrastructure and data teams for integrated platform
• design.
• Understand and articulate the pros and cons of proposed solutions to stakeholders.
• Contribute to the timely, high-quality delivery of software.
• Focus on developing efficient, scalable, and reusable software solutions.

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• A degree in software engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of architectural patterns like microservices, streaming, process management, and service orchestration.
• Proficiency in a programming language (Java preferred).
• 3+ years of proven experience in software engineering
• Excellent command of the English language.
• Understanding of cloud-based platforms (AWS experience preferred, certifications are a plus)
• Experience as a software developer/engineer, preferably in API-based applications.
• Familiarity with common cloud tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka,Octa Gitlab, Camunda, Lambda)
• Awareness of security practices in enterprise environments (OAuth2.0, OpenID, etc.).
• Understanding of Agile software development practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience in agile methodologies is advantageous.
• A proactive, learning-oriented attitude.
