Java Software Engineer

Our client is  looking for a Java Backend Engineer to join their team and contribute to delivering backend solutions for digital projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE), a solid understanding of CRUD operations, and experience working with relational, NoSQL, and in-memory databases. Additionally, this role will involve extensive work with Content Management systems, leveraging scalable document management software to enhance document workflows and storage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend services for digital projects using Java EE.
• Implement and optimize CRUD operations across relational, NoSQL, and in-memory databases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Work extensively with Content Management systems to configure and integrate scalable document management solutions, ensuring seamless document workflows and storage.
• Enhance existing systems for performance, scalability, and maintainability, focusing on efficient data handling and integration.
• Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct troubleshoot, and debug issues to ensure the reliability and quality of deliverables.
• Partner with DevOps teams to facilitate smooth deployment, monitoring, and support of backend services.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in Java, database management, and content management systems to propose innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in backend development with Java EE and associated frameworks.
• Strong expertise in CRUD operations and experience with:
• Relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• In-memory databases (e.g., Redis, Hazelcast).

• Hands-on experience with Content Management systems and scalable document management software.
• Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with SOAP services.
• Solid understanding of enterprise application design principles and architectural patterns.
• Familiarity with development tools and practices, including Maven, Git, and Jenkins.
• Exposure to containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with digital transformation projects in agile environments.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and related technologies (e.g., Spring Boot).
• Familiarity with application servers (e.g., WildFly, Payara) and their configurations.
• Understanding of security best practices in backend development.
